About The Artist:Friedrich Preller made many trips to the picturesque mountain village of Olevano, Italy. Roman Oaks was inspired by its surrounding forests. Peller said of the area “Nowhere was the organic coherence in nature so clear as there, and my observation was mainly directed toward that.”
