About The Artist:Johann Wilhelm Schirmer was a German landscape painter, considered a key figure in the development of German Romanticism. Schirmer’s work focused on capturing dramatic natural landscapes, often with a focus on mood and atmosphere. His mastery of light and color influenced later generations of artists, and he visited and painted in Belgium, the Black Forest, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Normandy and Italy.
