About The Artist:Jan Cigliski was a Polish painter and a pioneer of Russian Impressionism. Born into a noble family, he studied at the University of Warsaw before attending the Imperial Academy of Arts and also briefly studied in Paris. Renowned for his passionate and fast-working style, he taught at the Imperial Academy, where many notable artists, including Yury Annenkov and Ivan Bilibin, were among his students. Despite his greater recognition in Russia, his last will and testament bequeathed all of his works to Poland.
