About The Print:A collage of pressed leaves in muted greens against an off-white background.
About The Artist:These prints are pages of pressed plants included in a nineteenth-century scrapbook album held in the Rijksstudio collection of the Rijksmuseum. The notebook contained a wide variety of media, including prints, photographs, etchings, and clippings from books and newspapers, as well as numerous drawings of ornaments, architectural details and furniture designs. The owner of the album is listed on the cover as P.J. Kool, who historians believe was a furniture designer and draftsman in Rotterdam who used the album to gather inspiration for his designs.
