About The Artist:Jan Ruyscher was a Dutch Golden Age artist known for his etchings, drawings, and landscape paintings. Born in Franeker in the northern Netherlands, he was stylistically influenced by Hercules Segersearning him the nickname Young Hercules. Though his surviving body of work is relatively small, Ruyscher is appreciated for his atmospheric, often poetic landscapes, which reflect both the technical influence of his contemporaries and a distinctive personal vision.
