1920’s Bentwood Side Chair by Josef Hoffmann

Beautiful + Extremely Rare Art Noveau Bentwood Chair by famous Austrian architect + designer, Josef Hoffmann. Designed in partnership with Thonet in the Czech Republic, this “Fledermaus Bat” chair features a curved back, striped cotton seat, and charming ball details signature to his 1910-20’s work.

21″ W x 21″ D x 32″ H with 18″ Seat height

Condition is very good for its age… Scuffs/Scrapes throughout. One back rail is missing, but this does not effect comfort at all due to your back naturally hitting the top rest, instead of the curved bars below. The chair is a little creaky, as its so old, but structurally sound and great for a side chair…soemthign that doesn’t get major wear + tear in the home.
