We love these vintage teak circular boxes, with a delightful patina of age. The straight fluted carving on the base of the box undulates over their dome-shaped lids, and the boxes are tipped with a small wooden orb.

Originally used for storing the red powder used for bindis, the red forehead marking worn by women (and sometimes men) in India, they could be used for storing jewellery, trinkets, or spices, or as a decorative item in their own right. A lovely and original gift.

The boxes are approximately four inches (10cm) in diameter and five inches (12.7cm) high.
