Kantha (which means “patched cloth”) is a traditional Bengali technique, whereby older pieces of cloth, often saris, are stitched together with a simple running stitch. This creates a durable piece of lightly quilted fabric, with often very eclectic colours and patterns. Each piece is quite unique and the ultimate in upcycling.

– The fabrics have no doubt been washed dozens of times before being made into kantha, but we’d recommend either dry cleaning or a hand wash in cool water. Do not use strong detergents or bleach.
