Vintage Suzani Fabric

Suzani has its historic origins in Central Asia, where it was made as part of a bride’s dowry. Hand stitched in silk on a cotton base, these pieces become ever harder to find.

We have a small selction of hand embroidered suzani fabric. Their excellent condition suggests they are not particularly old – the older pieces typically show a certain amount of wear and tear – but with that in mind, we have no qualms about suggesting that they could be used to upholster a small chair, bench or ottoman, which we are happy to do for you. Other uses are as a tablecloth, a throw or a decorative wall hanging.

Each piece is unique and will inevitably have some imperfections.
