Persimmon

Beth says “When I paint my abstracts, I have to be in a certain state- or mood. I have to be in a place of openness, of experimenting, most of all a place of surrender. When I can do this, drop expectations and paint by feeling instead of seeing, is when I feel I create work that feels most like me. This piece specifically was painted at a time where I was feeling the push to be brave. even doing small things can be scary, and I found myself painting bold colors and brush strokes with a strong punch of persimmon colored courage close to the center. Seeing it in my studio always makes me feel like I am capable of being brave which to me means designing the life I want.”
